EuroCarBody Award 2017: BMW 6 series GT brings body Award

Even before its market launch on July 11. November, the new BMW 6 series GT has won its first important award: the EuroCarBody Award in 2017 was again able to win in Munich developed the automobile. The EuroCarBody Award 2017 has been awarded in the Hessian town of Bad Nauheim, 550 expert for the body shop took part in the three-day event and shared the most innovative automotive-car bodies of the year. The BMW 6 series GT was not only in the Premium Segment, but also brought the overall highest score of all twelve participating bodies.

In three of the four technical evaluation categories of the 6-series GT was on the first rank, and so laid the foundations for the sovereign overall victory. The Gran Turismo from Munich prevailed in Bad Nauheim, among other things, against the Volvo XC60, the Audi A8, the Range Rover Velar, and the Lexus LC.

The Jury’s reasons for the bestowal of the EuroCarBody Award: “Based on a large, one-piece die-cast aluminum tailgate frame and an innovative rear-end design that functions without a water drain, was achieved in a very large comfortable rear opening and maximum view through the rear window – combined with a comparison to the predecessor to 110 liters at a much larger trunk volume.
Also in the lightweight construction the body of the 6 series GT sets new standards: in Spite of increased Crash requirements and lightweight body growth could be brought in comparison with the 5 series GT again 44 kg weight from the body through increased use of Aluminium instead of steel, but a variety of constructive improvements in the Detail.”
