September 2019: the BMW Group celebrates global sales record

With a new record month for the BMW Group, the 3 has. Quarter of 2017 to complete. In September 2017 the world 239.764 vehicles of the brands BMW, MINI and Rolls-were sold to Royce, while the previous year was exceeded period of 0.8 percent. When looking at the regions, it is again clear how important the Asian markets are for global sales. While the sales figures in September 2017, both in Europe and in America remained slightly below the previous year, Asia by an impressive 8.0 per cent. China is by far the largest single market, with 52.681 units and continues to expand its lead to Germany and the USA.

Independent studies confirm our leading Position in the field of electric mobility. The BMW Group holds the largest share of the global electric market. In the current year we have already sold more electrified vehicles than in the whole of last year, and we are well on the way to reaching our target of 100,000 units by the end of the year. This continuous strong growth in sales of electrified vehicles goes back in part to the increasing availability of the BMW 5-series Plug-In Hybrid, which accounts in some markets, up to a third of sales of the BMW 5 series sedan.”

Peter Schwarzenbauer (member of the Board of management of BMW AG for MINI, Rolls-Royce and BMW Motorrad): “MINI achieved to continue sustainable sales growth and with the new MINI Countryman is a particularly strong driver of growth. Particularly pleasing is the popularity of the first MINI-Plug-In-Hybrid, has been delivered since its introduction in June worldwide to over 2,700 customers.”
