Jens Marquardt (BMW Motorsport Director): “For the first Time, Marco Wittmann was able to triumph at his home race. After our historic Victories in the past year, the today is therefore at the same place, again a very special success for us. The emotions of Marco, to see the spectators and the Team, goose bumps, the were moments. For us, it is the 80. DTM-victory overall and eighth here at the norisring. Congratulations to Marco and the whole BMW Team RMG for an absolute Top-performance – from seventh to first place, that was a very remarkable race. Bruno Spengler has made, the Fourth is also a very good Job. Timo Glock was able to get with a pretty damaged car is still a point, there had followed Gary Paffett a bit too often. Nevertheless, it is of course a great result today. Now there is a party.“

Stefan Reinhold (team principal, BMW Team RMG): “It is fantastic. Marco is now grown once more. The victory is a real satisfaction for our Team. We wanted to win here. The guys did a great Job, the pit stops were perfect. It was a tough weekend, but we always keep the nerves.“

Marco Wittmann (#11 BMW Driving Experience, the M4 DTM, BMW Team RMG – Qualifying result: 7. Place, Race Result: 1. Place, points: 92): “I think I have a pulse of 150. The emotions are crazy. Home-race, you don’t win all the days. I’ve tried here so many times, and it never worked out. It went from seventh to first place after the front, I never would have believed it. We had a mega Pace. I drove the race of my life – with some great Overtaking. My guys have done an incredible Job. The car was sensational. It is super nice to go now with two trophies from the norisring home.“

Augusto Farfus (#15 Shell BMW M4 DTM, BMW Team RMG – Qualifying result: 14. Place Race Result: 17. Place, points: 8): “We have not improved in comparison to Saturday strong enough. I had no way to attack. The Start was good, then again I had no Pace. Then I was turned over and a lot of far back. Congratulations to Marco and the Team to victory.“

Timo Glock (#16 DEUTSCHE POST BMW M4 DTM, BMW Team RMR – Qualifying result: 9. Place Race Result: 10. Place, points: 92): “this was a difficult race. The Pace was also today that I would have felt right at home. I had tried a relatively hard Fight with Gary Paffett, and I, the last point kind of take. It worked. The duel with Gary again was intense, we touched a few times. Two points are of course not the hoped-for yield by the weekend. But we are also in the fight for the top. Everything is now very tight. Now we must see to it that we are placed in the next race better. Congratulations to Marco for the win at home. He drove a very strong race.“

Bart Mampaey (team principal, BMW Team RBM): “With Bruno, we have gathered today re-important points. Everything went perfectly. We have postponed his pit stop slightly to the rear, which was from my point of view correctly. Subsequently, he has delivered a good Fight with Mercedes, you need to stay ahead. He has done very well. In the case of Joel, we have unfortunately lost the Box some time. The Pace of Philip has voted. Unfortunately, he remained in the traffic slopes. Congratulations to Marco and BMW to victory.“

Philipp Eng (#25 SAMSUNG BMW M4 DTM, BMW Team RMR – Qualifying result: 10. Place Race Result: 11. Place, points: 53): “For me, it was not an easy day. In the race the Pace was not there – in the Qualifying round, however, to 100 percent. Now we have to meet in the middle. The learning curve continues upwards. With the eleventh place I am not satisfied, but with the work that we have done this weekend already. I’m sure The results will come.“

Bruno Spengler (#7 BMW Bank M4 DTM, BMW Team RBM – Qualifying result: 6. Place Race Result: 4. Place, points: 43): “It was an interesting race with great battles. I could pull up from position six to Position four and have scored points in both races at the norisring. So of course I’m happy. That Marco has won in front of his home crowd, is fantastic for him. Overall, it was a BMW, a very positive weekend.“

Joel Eriksson (#47 BMW M4 DTM, BMW Team RBM – Qualifying result: 8. Place Race Result: 12. Place, points: 25): “The race was hard from the Start okay. We have lost at the pit stop places. I had to fight afterwards, tidy and often had to use the DRS. This was certainly not the best race. But I look into the future and look forward to the next races in Zandvoort. Congratulations to Marco for the home win here in Nuremberg.“
