Rudolf Dittrich (head of BMW Motorsport vehicle development): “It was an eventful race. We could be over the entire race distance, not sure whether it’s raining or not. After the Qualifying we didn’t have quite the hoped-for output location, the Top to retract results. But the race pace has generally voted. Thus, Marco and Philipp were able to make up for it, in combination with the appropriate strategy, positions, and Fifth and Seventh in the points race. That was a positive. We were involved in many battles which, although very much worth seeing for viewers, but ultimately, a lot of time cost. For Augusto, the race was over, unfortunately, already at an early stage through no fault of. Who knows what would have been possible for him. In Misano we are entering, once again new territory for the DTM, and we will work hard for it, then back to the front to join the fray.“

Stefan Reinhold (team principal, BMW Team RMG): “We were able to improve a few in comparison to yesterday. In Qualifying we were able to shorten the distance to the competition. The has no effect but, unfortunately, on the positions. You could see that it was missing the entire weekend on a bit of Pace. On the track you can overtake. With Marco we had the right strategy. For Augusto, it was an accident, he was completely uninvolved. It was a great pity.“

Bart Mampaey (team principal, BMW Team RBM): “for All have expected at the strategy a little so that in the end, still came the rain. This is not, ultimately, come. There was a lot of Action on the track, which have survived to our driver, fortunately, unscathed. I am very pleased with our pit stops. Philipp was at the end of the Seventh. Of course we hope always to be able to a bit more than only a seventh place pick. We now need to work hard, to be able to us in Misano with hopefully more vehicles back in the points fight.“

Marco Wittmann (#11 BMW Driving Experience, the M4 DTM, BMW Team RMG – Qualifying result: 9. Place Race Result: 5. Place, points: 110): “in the end, I’m pretty satisfied. I think the whole weekend has shown us the Mercedes a little, the Pace is missing. This was reflected in Qualifying. We have made the Best of it. We had a good Start and also in terms of the in-between cases a bit of luck, because it is quite closely approached. In the race itself, we had to stop a good strategy and, above all, a very fast pit. This pleases me, especially for my boys, who are currently in a superb Job during the pit stop. In the end I had to defend pretty hard against Mike rockenfeller, but it still has enough. Fifth place is better than expected, I am very satisfied.“

Augusto Farfus (#15 Shell BMW M4 DTM, BMW Team RMG – Qualifying result: 7. Place race result: DNF, points: 40): “Lucas Auer and Robin Frijns were in the midst of a battle. I got into it and couldn’t do anything. Frijns, then I touched him. After that, it was hardly more possible to continue. We have still hoped for rain, but it never came, unfortunately.“

Timo Glock (#16 DEUTSCHE POST BMW M4 DTM, BMW Team RMR – Qualifying result: 13. Place Race Result: 11. Place, points: 101): “The race result is of course not what we had hoped for. With a start space 13, we certainly had the best location, but in terms of race pace we have made between yesterday and today a big step forward. Unfortunately, the Rennumst√§nde not have allowed that we could implement the good Pace in the good result. We will continue to work hard and to us in Misano.“

Bruno Spengler (#7 BMW Bank M4 DTM, BMW Team RBM – Qualifying result: 18. Place Race Result: 14. Place, points: 43): “Unfortunately, we were not able to solve the problems of the Balance and the Set-up we had yesterday, overnight. We now need to analyze, of course, for the next race, what it was and try to improve. The bottom line is it was not for me, of course, the weekend that I had hoped for.“

Philipp Eng (#25 SAMSUNG BMW M4 DTM, BMW Team RMR – Qualifying result: 10. Place Race Result: 7. Place, points: 83): “From tenth place to seventh place, not a bad result. So I can be satisfied. It is a pity that I couldn’t keep the sixth place. Nevertheless, I’m happy with the weekend. We have given everything. Now I am really looking forward to Misano.“

Joel Eriksson (#47 BMW M4 DTM, BMW Team RBM – Qualifying result: 16. Place Race Result: 13. Place, points: 27): “It was not the easiest and not the best Start. In the middle of traffic it was a bit difficult, and I had a fight with Robin Frijns. I think our pit stop was very good. After that, we were able to make up some positions. I’m for the first Time on this track, so it was quite difficult for me. Now I am looking forward to the next race weekend.“
